Today we celebrate Teacher’s Day in India. Teacher’s Day is celebrated in honor of our 2nd Indian President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday.

Teachers are a friend, philosopher, and guide to children and have a great influence on young minds. Teachers are the backbone of the nation! Since time immemorial India has paid high regard to teachers and has considered them Gods. Who hasn’t heard of “Acharya Devo Bhava!”. We have had many great teachers in Indian Mythology like Shankaracharya, Dronacharya, and many others. Indian history also talks about great teachers likeDr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Rabindranath Tagore, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Swami Vivekananda, Chanakya and many others who shaped their students’ lives.

A great teacher can change a student’s life. There are many stories that clearly illustrate the benefits of a strong relationship between an educator and pupil. As some of the most influential role models for developing students, teachers are responsible for more than just academic enrichment.
