Make your own No-Cook Homemade Clay

Are you frustrated when store-bought playdough/clay dries out? Surely, you are tired of buying something that can be easily made at home? With several household ingredients, you can not only save money but also create a fun activity. This easy project is fun for kids. The clay can be moulded into many different shapes for an endless number of crafts during summer break. Homemade clay recipes are perfect for modeling clay projects or other clay crafts. And making clay and playdough is easy and fun!

You will need

  1. Large mixing Bowl
  2. Water – 1 cup to 1/2 cup (more if required)
  3. All purpose Flour – 4 cups
  4. Cooking oil – 2 to 4 tbs
  5. Salt – 1 cup
  6. Food color  – any color
  7.  Glitter

Instructions

Pour water in a large mixing bowl

Then add flour and salt in the bowl

Next add food color and stir well (whichever color you like)

Add 2 to 4 tablespoon oil into the mixture and blend well. Knead the ingredients together until a soft dough formed.

Mix glitter (as many as your kids like)

Tips

  1. Oil is the secret to keeping the dough softer. If you don’t add enough oil the mixture will be very crumbly!
  2. To store the clay simply make small balls and keep them in an airtight plastic bag.
